Hydrosalpinx - Hydrosalpinx is when a tube fills with fluid and becomes blocked. They can try and open the tubes but it is highly likely that they will just become filled again. The fluid kills or damages the ciliea in the tubes and therefore even if they drain the fluid from the tubes there is a high risk of ectopic because the egg isn't being moved down through the tube to the uterus. For some reason, either because the fluid is 'toxic' or because the fluid entering the uterus from the tubes washes away the ebmryos, but keeping the tubes as they are will still reduce the success of IVF by as much as 50%.
